Competitive Sport News

Senior Soccer

There were some commendable results in our Senior Soccer fixtures with the Senior Girls Team 2 taking out a good home win against St Andrews. The Senior Boys travelled to Suncoast where they competed well in a tight match which ended in a 2-2 draw. Senior players are reminded to make sure they check in with coaches if they are not able to make games to ensure that there are always enough players to compete in Wednesday afternoon fixtures.

Junior and Intermediate Volleyball

It was a strong week for our volleyball teams with wins across the board. Congratulations to our Intermediate Girls Team 2 and Junior Girls who fought hard in their 2-1 victories at home yesterday afternoon. It was great to see both teams dig deep, maintain their composure and clinch the final tie-breaking set. The Junior Girls in particular showed improvement in their confidence and skills as the game progressed. Well done to our Junior Boys who challenged Matthew Flinders at home and walked away with a 2-0 victory. Our Intermediate Girls Team 1 and Intermediate Boys team had the week off and we look forward to seeing them on the court again next round.

District Cross Country

We wish our PLC Cross Country team all the best as they compete in the Independent District Cross Country next Tuesday at the Big Pineapple fields. It was great to see so many students head out this week for a training run at the venue. A reminder that the bus for 13-19yr old runners will depart from the front PLC Bus Stop at 7.30am on Tuesday the 9th of May. We ask that all students are present by 7.20am for roll marking. 13-19 yrs runners will then return to PLC at approximately 12.15pm and will attend classes as normal for the remainder of the day.
