We welcome everyone to the start of a new term and particularly those who are new to our community. We trust that everyone has had some time to rest and rejuvenate through the change in routine that the holidays have provided.

Term 2 is a term with many events and extra breaks. It is particularly important for Middle and Senior College students to quickly settle into good routines for home learning that enable them to keep focus and optimise their learning. Families can assist young people to forward plan to reduce the impact of changes and busy periods throughout the term. Good routines help us to make the most of the moment we are in.

Our PIPPIN cast and crew took advantage of the student-free day to engage in a full day of rehearsal. We look forward to what promises to be thoroughly entertaining performances on the 19th and 20th of May. Tickets are now available through the Events Centre.

Over the holidays a number of students performed very well in their sporting pursuits. Jess Lloyd competed strongly at the Trans-Tasman Challenge and the World Oceania Archery Competition. Jess has been invited to represent Australia at the World Youth Archery Championships in Ireland. We congratulate swimmers Emily Lengenberg and Alex Monroe who performed very well at the School State Swimming Championships and at the Australian National Age Championships. We also congratulate Saxon Mathers for his recent performances in the Australasian Scooter Championships, Dion Owen for his success at the State Gymnastics Championships and Zoe Woods for her achievements at the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships. These students’ accomplishments are further acknowledged in the Senior Sport article.

We wish our rugby teams all the best as they compete at the Armidale Rugby Competition this weekend and thank Mr Darren Hooper, Mr Josh Cummins and Mr Scottt Crompton for the preparation of these teams.  We also thank Ms Leigh Finter and the parents who will also be accompanying our teams.

We thank our Senior College teachers, parents and students who made the most of the Senior College Conferences earlier this week.  These conferences provided valuable time to explore ways in which students could lift their learning to the next level.

We pray that God would strengthen our faith and trust in Him so that we can better live each moment.
