There was a great buzz of energy on Wednesday night as Year 9 students supported by their families explored options for their future study in Year 10 through conversation with our Heads of Department and senior teachers.  Parents regularly commented on the richness of the courses and opportunities that are provided as students begin their journey into Senior College. We thank our senior teachers for the thinking and time they have put into developing engaging, challenging and very worthwhile courses of learning. Thank you to our Heads of Department and senior teachers for their generosity of time in supporting the evening and to our parents and students for making the most of this opportunity to connect and learn.

We congratulate our Year 3-7 athletics team who represented the College well at the Primary Independent Athletics Carnival at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Well done to the team who came 4th out of the 10 schools. We wish all the best to those athletes who now go on to represent the Independent District at the regional carnival. We thank Mr Darren Hooper, Mr Stuart Pohlner, Mrs Kim Kiernan, Mr Connor Dines, and Ms Caity O’Keefe for the support of the team.

Parents are encouraged to ensure they have read the communication that was emailed on Tuesday 26th July. Within this communication, there was the invitation to provide feedback to the College via our annual online survey and participate in our strategic planning process on Saturday 20th August. The email also provided information about processes that must be followed when planning for extended student absences. Further resources were provided for families to use when discussing the health risks associated with vaping and advice about the actions the College is taking to educate young people and reduce risk within the school environment.
