It is a delight to welcome staff, students and parents to the start of Term 2. In particular, we welcome new students and their families. We welcome back Mr Gary Graves and Ms Sharon Dean from long service leave and new teachers Mr Brian Ashley (Middle and Senior College Mathematics and IT) and Mrs Lara Stiller (Prep) who will be replacing Mrs Wendy Wescombe and Mrs Shelley Hogan while they are on maternity leave. We also welcome Mrs Helen Doyle as part time Teacher Librarian and Mrs Peta King as Uniform Shop Convenor. We look forward to welcoming Pastor Tim Jarick who will be formally commencing his role as College Pastor this Friday.

Our U12 rugby team acquitted themselves very well over the holiday period at the Armidale Rugby Carnival. This is a wonderful experience for the boys and we thank parents for their support. We also thank Mr Andrew Block and Mr Josh Danzey for their coaching and management of the team and Mr Darren Hooper for his coaching and overall organisation.

The cast and crew of the To Kill A Mockingbird production continued to refine their performances over the holiday period and we look forward to enjoying this powerful play in mid May. Families are encouraged to bring friends for what will be a very entertaining and thought provoking theatre experience.

The Jazz Evening next Friday night provides an opportunity for families to relax. We will be able to enjoy the music provided by students, staff and visiting artists and the food platters prepared by our talented Hospitality team. The gourmet cheese produced by the students will be among the delights of the evening.

This week we have farewelled Kindergarten teacher Mrs Leanne Iles, who is taking a Prep teaching position in Brisbane. Mrs Iles was the founding Director of our Kindergarten and has been an outstanding educator for our early childhood children. Her ability to nurture and support young children’s curiosity and imagination has supported rich learning. We thank Mrs Iles for her very significant contribution and wish her God’s richest blessings.

May God bless and enrich all members of this community so that we might be a blessing to others.

Dr Bronwyn Dolling, Principal
