Supporting Families to Co-create Better Futures

At Pacific Lutheran College, we recognise that parents are a child’s first and most influential educators. We are committed to walking alongside families, fostering strong partnerships built on trust, communication and shared values.

Parent engagement is woven into the fabric of our community, whether it’s through classroom involvement, attending College events, participating in parent groups, or supporting learning at home. Together, we create a nurturing environment where every young person can grow with confidence, purpose and a sense of belonging.

Here you will find a range of resources, webinars and tools designed to support parents and caregivers on every step of the journey.

Whether you're seeking practical strategies to support your child’s learning, insights into school life, or ways to connect with our College community, we’re here to walk alongside you.

Explore our interactive webinars, access helpful guides, and stay connected with the latest updates, because when families and schools partner together, young people flourish and we co-create better futures.

Circle of Security 2025

We are exploring the possibility of offering a condensed version of the Circle of Security program at our school. Presently we are only offering this to parents and guardians across the Prep-Year 2 cohorts.

This evidence-based program is designed to support parents and caregivers in strengthening their relationship with their child, enhancing emotional connection, and promoting secure attachment. Through a series of practical and reflective sessions, families can gain valuable insights into their child’s emotional needs and develop strategies to respond in ways that support growth, resilience and wellbeing.

If offered, the program would be delivered in a shortened format to fit within the next school term and be accessible to more families.

College counsellor, Mr Brendan Macauley, has been trained in delivering the program and has constructed a short 5-minute video explaining the purpose of the program as well as what becoming involved entails.

We invite Prep - Year 2 Parents to register if this is something that would appeal to you.

PACIFIC LEARNING HUB - An Engaging Evening with Dr Brenda Heyworth

On Tuesday 25th March Pacific Lutheran College had the privilege of hosting an insightful and engaging presentation by Dr Brenda Heyworth, renowned educator, psychiatrist and author. Parents gathered in the gymnasium to hear Dr Heyworth share her expertise on emotional regulation and strategies for navigating "the jungle" of parenting. With over 30 years of experience and a Harvard University background in Learning Design, Dr. Heyworth captivated the audience with her warm, approachable style and practical insights. Her gentle humor kept everyone engaged as she explored ways to help children and teenagers develop better emotional control. The evening’s discussion was centered around her book “It’s a Jungle: A Parent’s Guide to Emotions and Behaviour.” Parents learned actionable strategies to better understand and support their children through emotional ups and downs, helping to create a healthier home environment. A special thank you to all who attended and made this event a success. We look forward to continuing to support one another in this journey of learning and growth as part of the Pacific Learning Hub.
