Connection to Community and Country
This week we officially launched our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), marking an important step in the College’s ongoing commitment to reconciliation, respect and
relationship-building within the College and wider community.
The College’s vision for reconciliation is to see it “woven within the fabric of our College community.” This means reconciliation is not limited to a single event or week of recognition, but something intentionally lived through daily actions, learning and relationships.
As part of the launch, the students and staff also reflected on the commissioned First Nations artwork unveiled earlier this year for the College’s 25-year celebrations. Students and staff had the opportunity to hear from local Gubbi-Gubbi and Kabi Kabi artist Zartisha Davis, who shared the story and meaning behind the artwork.
The launch included the presentation of the published RAP to Dr Bronwyn Dolling, at both Junior and Senior assemblies, acknowledging the collective commitment of staff, students and the wider community to continue the journey of reconciliation together.
